About the Position

A Director at PGC Basketball is the primary leader responsible for the overall execution, quality, and culture of a PGC camp. This role oversees all aspects of the on-site experience, including instruction, staff leadership, player development, and cultural alignment for 100+ athletes, coaches, and staff.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide leadership to every aspect of a PGC camp, including being responsible for the overall experience for 100+ players and coaches.

  • Teach PGC’s curriculum in the daily classroom sessions (2-3 hrs.), film sessions (1 hr.) & court sessions (6-7 hrs.).

  • Model every aspect of SCHAPE and uphold each aspect of PGC’s culture.

  • Incorporate PGC’s teaching methodology, best practices, and unique vocabulary.

  • Lead daily staff meetings, manage the entire staff, and provide timely feedback.

  • Work closely with the Site Manager to oversee check-in, check-out, and uphold PGC’s risk management procedures.

  • Learn the names of every participating athlete and Observing Coach and make meaningful individual connections.

 

Qualifications

  • Must have coaching, camp directing, or PGC experience (3 years preferred).

  • Must have completed college and have prior leadership experience.

  • Must be available to work a minimum of 3-4 sessions each summer.

  • Must take part in a comprehensive training program.

Working Conditions

  • For residential (overnight) camps, stay on campus with staff and athletes for the duration of the session. For day camps, PGC will arrange lodging for the staff near the facility.

  • Ability to actively demonstrate basketball skills and techniques, including shooting, dribbling, and passing.

  • Ability to walk and be on your feet during all gym training sessions while engaging with participants throughout the gym for 5 consecutive days. 

  • Ability to walk long distances between dorms, classrooms, and the gym. 

  • Ability to lift and/or transport equipment and boxes up to 40 pounds.
